1. The What

What is it you are all about? What is your core message? Beyond your training & your experience lies a rich tapestry of essential innate wisdom you have to share. What are you here for, what do you have to say, what is the one thing that you don’t want to leave this world without sharing? Don’t dance around it, don’t waste time, just dig until you get to the heart of that message, then let it shine for the world to see.

 

2. The Why

Ask yourself why you want to do this. The why is what drives you. It is what makes you stay focussed when you are tired, grumpy, over excited, confused or off on a tangent. The why is your life force, your passion, your energy, your very heartbeat. The why is about service, contribution, love, community, authenticity and devotion. It is beyond the ego, beyond competition, beyond conventional ideas of success. It is your lifeblood. Every experience, every part of your personality, every part of your soul has prepared you for this. My Why — I started coaching wellbeing practitioners because;

  • I am absolutely passionate about wellbeing and the incredibly devoted practitioners who promote it
  • I have loads of wisdom & experiences to share (some disastrous, some funny, some incredibly successful)
  • I am totally over the poverty consciousness that many practitioners hold onto when they could thrive
  • I have experience in over 10 modems so I can relate
  • I know you can create heartfelt success that supports you financially, physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually
  • I am passionate about offering ethical business skills, support, wisdom, connection and joy for your journey
  • I want you to know you’re not alone
  • I want you to remember why you started all this in the first place
  • I can’t bear the thought of having all this wisdom and not sharing it
  • I know this path, but I don’t want, need, or expect you to walk my way — it’s your dance, I’m just the guide for as long as you need me.

 

3. The Who

You need to find your people, your audience, the folks you can help. Your unique voice is for someone special. Someone often a little like you, or someone you have known. I used to really worry about the state of the natural world until I realised that is not my business. I am happy to do what I can with my personal footprint, but I can step back because there are people who are experts, called to do this work, and they know a hell of a lot more than I do about it. Meanwhile I was neglecting my unique capacity to contribute. My who for Spirit in Business are wellbeing practitioners. For you it may be mums, kids, people with depression, people who are lost, seniors, men or whoever your message and your passion speaks to. Once you know who they are you should know where to find them.

 

4. The How

How do you get your message out into the world? Okay you don’t do anything here until you’re clear on the What, the Why & the Who. NOTHING. If you’re not clear on the what, the why & the who, you’ll respond to any old how that comes along. You’ll become scatty and distracted and you’ll totally dilute, if not lose, who you are in the process. You’ll say yes to anything that comes along because hey it’s money or experience or they want you, or it’ll look or sound good. You’ll lose your audience because they’ll get bored with waiting for the essence of your work and they’ll move on. Take courage. Get in amongst it. Did you know you can generate work for yourself that is totally in line with your message and your intentions with clarity and careful planning? How about that! But you need to get brave and get jiggy with it. I’m all for play and rest but you’ll need to work at this. Plan AND act. Ask for what you want. Yes one day people will come to you, and let me tell you that is a beautiful day, but first you have to forge your reputation before you can rely on it. Mould and craft it with training, experience and dedicated work. Go after what you want, state who you are, aim straight and then take it out into the world. You can do that through talks, courses, classes, consultations, writing, training. That’s your how vehicle. But whatever modem you choose keep it tied into what your message is, why you are doing it and who you are doing it for. And that is a recipe for success.
