Why finding your voice is more important than finding your audience

But I want to talk about why finding your voice is more important than finding your audience…
Finding Your Voice
In my experience most wellbeing practitioners started their career after their own journey of healing. A huge recurring factor in that healing was being able to find their voice and their way. Part of that healing journey can certainly be tested once you step into a business or social media arena. There is a huge temptation to slip back into what you think people want to hear, what you think will be popular or generate approval, what you know will give you the ‘likes’ you’re after. You are not here to mimic a popular line. You are here to speak your truth. For your own joy and happiness in experiencing freedom of self-expression, and for the benefit your authentic voice will bring to others.
Finding Your Awareness
You need to bring your self-awareness to this journey. Stay deeply tapped into your spiritual or personal development practices so you can see when you’re drifting off course. Ask yourself what is it I am not seeing, saying or doing? What am I afraid of? Am I being honest and open about who I am? Why am I here? Am I holding back on my deepest work? Am I stifling my true voice? Be gentle on yourself, but honest to the bone.
Finding Your Anchor
If you tie yourself to the expectations of your audience you are lost. You will constantly run around the outside, rather than sit in your power. If you’ve been a people pleaser in the past you’ll need to be extra cautious here. Running around trying to make everyone happy never ends well. I know you know this. Above all else you are here to tell the truth. Your truth. Think of the image of a lighthouse. Totally anchored in safe harbour you radiate your wisdom out into the world. Clear, vibrant, ready to assist. You don’t see something shiny on the next cliff and race over there, allowing those who were coming to you to crash in the dark. The wellbeing practitioners who thrive are those who are totally, utterly themselves. People gravitate to that. They crave it. Damn right it takes courage, but this is where your audience will generate itself. And these folks are loyal, they are interactive, they are engaged, they are great advocates, and they are oh so grateful for your truth…
Integrating Your Marketing
Once you have found your voice, intrinsically connected to the heart and soul, you send it out there over and over again in a thousand different ways, on a thousand different days, and then some. Not a different message, not a different voice, but the same one. Deeper and deeper and deeper. With love, with devotion, with consistency.
Finding your voice and sending it out there with truth, honesty and integrity is everything. Your unique message counts. It is why you are here on this planet today. There are people waiting for you and they’ll recognise your voice when they hear it, make no mistake about that. So, what are you waiting for?…
